Benfica won (1-2), this Saturday, in Portimão, against Portimonense in a match for the 25th round of the League. Welinton, Grimaldo and Gonçalo Ramos scored the goals. Paulo Sérgio was expelled.
In a first half marked by two interruptions – by a ball catcher and torches falling on the pitch -, the home team was the first to celebrate, in the 25th minute. Taarabt miscalculated a pass and left the ball at the mercy of Carlinhos, who watched for Welinton to open the scoring.
Benfica reached the equalizer after the break, with Taarabt redeeming himself for the error in the first goal and, after not letting the ball leave the sideline, passing to Grimaldo, who, isolated, did not miss. In the second half, Gonçalo Ramos sealed the comeback of the Reds after a cross by Rafa.
With this triumph, the second consecutive one in the League, the Luz club went on to add 57 points in the third place of the championship, putting pressure on the second-placed Sporting, who has one more point and this Saturday welcomes Arouca. Paulo Sérgio’s team, who was expelled for protests, is ranked ninth, with 29 points.
