Ambassador Antonov: By supplying Ukraine with more and more powerful weapons, the United States is deliberately aggravating the conflict
Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov commented on US plans to send GLSDB small-diameter bombs to Ukraine with a range of about 150 kilometers. His words are given in the Telegram channel of the Russian diplomatic mission.
He considered the transfer of ever more powerful weapons to Kyiv as a deliberate escalation of the conflict by the United States. According to the diplomat, in this way the United States encourages Ukraine to attack Russian regions. “Washington is de facto inciting its wards to attack Russian regions,” he said.
Antonov noted that the American authorities “put almost everything on the Ukrainian card.” He also did not rule out that the United States “may reach absolute insanity, such as providing fighter jets to the republic.”
On February 3, it became known that the United States would send military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $2.175 billion. The package will include long-range GLSDB projectiles, high-precision missiles and HAWK anti-aircraft missile systems, as well as other ammunition and weapons.
In response, the Kremlin commented on the US decision to supply long-range shells to Kyiv. On February 2, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about the supply of Western weapons to Ukraine with the phrase “we have something to answer.”
