Aggressor immobilized during flight and handed over to PSP upon landing in Lisbon

A 28-year-old man, who allegedly behaved aggressively towards a friend during a flight and who did not respect the crew’s instructions, was detained by the PSP in Lisbon, for offenses to physical integrity inside the aircraft.

“The suspect, as a passenger, during the flight did not respect the instructions of the crew and committed acts of violence against a friend who was traveling with him, putting, according to the report received from the crew, in danger the safety of the flight, its crew and other passengers, so there was a need to use the necessary means in order to restrict and immediately stop the aggressive conduct”, explains the Metropolitan Command of the Lisbon PSP, in a statement.

Already after the plane landed and when the suspect was handed over to the PSP, the man maintained aggressive behavior. The detainee was constituted as a defendant and provided a term of identity and residence. “Since he did not reside in Portugal, he was taken to the detention cells of this Metropolitan Command, to be present at the Lisbon Criminal Instance – Small Crime Section”, explains that security force.
