A student was the victim of a stabbing attack at Paris Cité University on Wednesday January 25, franceinfo learned from the Paris prosecutor’s office. “The vital prognosis of the victim is engaged”, says the prosecution. A suspect was arrested and taken into custody. An investigation was opened on the count of attempted voluntary homicide and the investigations were entrusted to the judicial police.
The victim was taken care of by the firefighters and transported to the hospital, a source familiar with the matter told franceinfo. The facts took place around noon at the Paris Cité University on the Saint-Germain-des-Prés campus. “The 7th floor of the building is neutralized as part of the police investigation”, adds the university on Twitter. A medico-psychological emergency unit of the Paris SAMU is on site.
