Police said Neal admitted to entering the man’s room, but said he did so because he “smelled smoke” and wanted to make sure the guest was OK.
However, he did not report the “smell of smoke” to other employees. There were also no other statements about potential fire hazards from other guests or service staff.
On May 5, cops took Neil into custody at his home in Lebanon. He was charged with burglary and aggravated assault.
According to WKRN, police are jailing David on $27,000 bond.
For its part, the hotel released a statement that read: “The safety of our guests and team members is our highest priority. We are working closely with the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department and it is company policy not to comment on the investigation.”
We will remind, not so long ago a resident of Great Britain stayed in a hotel during the renovation of his house. During his stay, a drunk stranger got the keys to his room and climbed into his bed.
