The march from Vale de S. Cosme was the great winner of this year’s antonine marches in Famalicão.
The group, which included more than a hundred traders, addressed the theme of the grape harvest, with arches that recalled the phases of the grape harvest and clothes inspired by the vines. It also won the title of best choreography and most popular march.
She was the first to go on stage, and at the end of the performance, the choreographer, Artur Moreira, confessed that it was a “challenge overcome”, admitting that despite all the marchers being newcomers, it was a “pleasant” job.
ARCA – Associação Recreativa e Cultural de Antas won second place and the prize for best arches. In third place was the Associação de S. Salvador da Lagoa, which also won the prize for best music. The prize for best lyrics was attributed to the march of the União de Freguesias de Gondifelos, Cavalões and Outiz and the best wardrobe went to the Cultural and Sports Association of S. Martinho de Brufe.
During the night of this Monday, the eight marches showed in the streets of the city and on stage the work that they developed during several months to brighten up one of the nights of the Antoninas parties that come to an end this Tuesday.
The festivities end with a solemn procession in honor of Saint Anthony, the awarding of prizes to the sales marches and a firework display in Parque da Devesa.
